Art The Mountains
It was the best hundred-peso I ever spent. At a recent trip to Baguio, my friend K and I were fortunate enough to visit the BenCab Museum. We wandered the halls, looking at all the lovely paintings. It was an almost reverential experience. I felt all my worries just falling away.
I spent hours just staring at the paintings, sometimes I stood before them, sometimes I sat in front of them. However, I kept going back to two, which were definitely my favorites.
32 Variations of Sabel was just astounding:
If you really looked, you'll see Sabel smiling, crying, mad, sad, scared. There were just all those feelings.
Bemused I just loved instantly. I didn't know why until I realized that it reminds me of my four kids! I was definitely bemused!
Lunch at Cafe Sabel had me eating the freshest of sauteed vegetables rolled in a light crepe with a side salad of garden greens and perfectly sliced tomatoes. Now I am a certified carnivore and though there wasn't a hint of meat on what I ate, I felt full all afternoon. Maybe it was the freshness of those veggies or maybe it was the hot chocolate? Or maybe, my head still reeled from all those fabulous images that I didn't get back to earth until way past dinner.
